Jimmy and Jenny and the Haunted Cabin
A Mystery of the American Frontier
About the book
A hidden cabin. A frontier secret.
Twins Jimmy and Jenny expect their family camping trip to bring hiking, wildlife, and a chance to practice using a map and compass. They do not expect a runaway rabbit, a sudden storm, or a mysterious cabin hidden deep in the woods.
Inside, the twins discover secrets that have been hidden for more than two centuries. A frontier hunter needs their help, but first they must separate fact from legend, follow the clues, and find evidence that others will believe.
Jimmy and Jenny and the Haunted Cabin combines outdoor exploration, practical skills, a child-appropriate ghost story, and the documented history of Lewis Green, who survived a brutal bear attack on the American frontier in 1774.
The adventure is fictional, but the history behind it is real. Historical and Biographical Notes introduce young readers to the surviving accounts and the author's family connection to Lewis Green.
